Welcome to my school counselor portfolio!
I'm so glad you're here. I'm someone who cares deeply about supporting students—not just academically, but as whole people. With a background in counseling and hands-on experience in high school settings, I’ve had the opportunity to help students from all walks of life find their footing, build confidence, and move forward with purpose. This portfolio is a reflection of the work I’m passionate about: empowering students, partnering with families and educators, and creating a school environment where everyone feels seen, supported, and capable of success. Thanks for taking the time to explore it!
Theoretical Orientation
My theoretical orientation as a school counselor is rooted in a holistic, student-centered approach that values connection, collaboration, and growth. I believe that creating a safe, welcoming space is the foundation for meaningful progress—when students feel heard and supported, they’re more open to exploring challenges and developing the tools they need to move forward.I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help students build self-awareness, reframe negative thinking, and practice effective coping strategies. I also incorporate strengths-based and solution-focused techniques, which empower students to recognize their abilities and take an active role in their own growth. My work with English Learners and students facing complex life circumstances has deepened my belief in advocacy, flexibility, and the importance of truly listening to each student’s story.Collaboration is central to how I work. I value teaming up with teachers, families, and support staff to wrap around each student with care and intention. My goal is always to nurture the whole student—supporting their academic goals, personal development, and sense of belonging—while helping them build the confidence and skills to thrive beyond high school.
